Chair Toning is a program to strengthen and tone various body parts. It is a non-stress, low-impact class. It is appropriate for any age and level of physical capability. Participants are seated throughout the program. Exercises are done for warm-up, toning and strength and cool-down. Weights can be used for a portion of the class but this is optional. Suggested weights are 1-3 lb hand weights. Upper body, lower body and core strengthening/toning are the focus of this class. Emphasis on breathing and control with movement throughout. Participants are not expected to use weights or do certain exercises if this is beyond their ability or comfort level. Class size limited to 25.

Strengthen your body and your balance all in one class! The stronger your balance is the safer daily activities become. This low impact class is designed to increase muscular strength and develop confidence through difference balance activities. Along with balance activities, this class will focus on basic movements such as standing up from a chair and creating a stronger gait. This class is suitable for those beginning their exercise regimen or those who are already a fitness lover! Wherever your strength/balance is today, there is always room for improvements so don’t worry—come join the fun! Using weights is encouraged by not necessary.

Coming off a loss to the Yankees in Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, the 2004 Red Sox added a few missing pieces during the offseason. They fought the Yankees throughout the regular season and refused to give up after going down 0-3 in the ALCS. Herb Crehan, who has written over 150 features for Red Sox publications, will be joining us to relive that wonderful season and his experience interviewing 16 players from that special 2004 championship team.
